The Wise Man's Fear by AlyssaCubero The Wise Man's Fear by AlyssaCubero
Mock book cover for "The Wise Man's Fear" by Patrick Rothfuss as an assignment for class.

Pictured is the first scene of the tree of the Cthaeh, splitting the red butterfly because it "offends his aesthetic"

Done in watercolor, copic, and a bit of photoshop for the type and color adjustments.

Yes, definitely.

Honestly, I wish that was the cover of the book; I think it's much more striking and interesting than what they've got right now. (Quick, get Patrick Rothfuss on the case!)

Haha. Thank you again! I actually already sent it to him a few weeks back. He was quick to respond and asked if he could mention it in a blog eventually. He has not done so yet, but he is a busy man. If he doesn't even put it in his blog, I don't care. He saw it and called it lovely. That's plenty for me!
